Religion of Iran


Since ancient times, Iran has been called a land of religions. For thousands of years, adherents of various religious faiths have been living peaceful lives in the country. This is reflected in numerous religious buildings that survive to our time of different ages. Iran is the birthplace of the world's earliest known monotheistic faith, i.e. Zoroastrianism. It has also been home to many other religions such as Mithraism, Manichaeism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
