Hajij Village

The winding roads, the roaring rivers, and the beautiful tunnels prepare you for one of the most beautiful villages of Iran. made on a valley of Zagreus Mountain Range, the village is known for its unique architecture. Lack of sufficient land in this area forced the inhabitants to use what they had in the best way possible so the houses are interconnected in a way that the roof of a house is the yard of another, giving the whole village the shape of a massive staircase. The houses are made from stone, using the method of the dry stack, which is a method of constructing without mortar. The residents are famous for their independence from other cities or villages, all the needs are fulfilled with local products. Producing Giveh, a kind of soft, comfortable, durable and handwoven-top shoe, is the main handicraft of the village. The interesting thing about Giveh is that it doesn’t have left foot and right foot, it fits both. The residents are Sunni Muslims and speak Kurdish with Huraman accent. The traditional musical instrument of the village is Shamshal, a wind instrument like a flute. There is also a very famous mineral water spring that attracts many tourists from all around the world.
