Ali Sadr Cave

the biggest water cave in the world

It is the biggest water cave in the world, with stones that date back to Jurassic time. the cave was used as a dam and water reservoir for warm seasons and because of that, it was filled with water. As a result of an earthquake, the dam was broken and the cave was revealed. In 1963, for the first time, a group of mountain climbers went inside for mapping and assessing the cave. By this time the entrance of the cave was a 50-centimeter hole. the narrow entrance was a barrier for non-hikers to visit the cave and therefore with the help of local people the entrance was widened to 5 meters. The highest part of the cave is 40 meters and the deepest part is 14 meters. The visit will take about 2 hours and once inside there is no way of shortening it. During the summer, the weather inside the cave is cool, and during winter, the temperature inside the cave is higher than the outside.
